An electrocardiogram - or ECG - is a simple and useful test which records the rhythm, rate and electrical activity of your heart. This is an ECG that is recorded while you are walking on a treadmill or cycling on an exercise bike. The aim of this test is to see how your heart works when you are more active. An ECG can be used to identify issues with your heart rhythm or beat rate. It can assist doctors in determining whether you are suffering a heart attack or have already experienced one. One of the initial heart tests you will often get is an ECG. It does have some restrictions, therefore you frequently also have to take one or more other tests. An abnormal ECG reading may not necessarily indicate a heart condition.
